While Howell finished T24 in his last appearance at the Tour Championship in 2005, he is a two-time runner-up in the event (he was also second in 2003, when the tournament was at Champions Golf Club in Houston). A local favorite from Augusta, Ga., he could break through if he combines length off the tee and touch around the greens like he did at the Nissan Open in February.
