When the weather is a storyline at the U.S. Open, it's usually the heat. During the second round at Bethpage, it was the rain a hard, driving downpour that contributed to a scoring average near 77 for the field. Sergio Garcia [inset], who fell from one shot behind leader Tiger Woods during the second round to seven back, slammed the USGA for not blowing the horn. "Do we have to be swimming here to stop play?" he carped.
