The Four Seasons Golf Course at Punta Mita, a Jack Nicklaus Signature design, offers breathtaking ocean views as it rolls over 200 pristine acres of lush, flowering landscape.
Eight holes on the 7,014-yard layout rest directly on the ocean, the most famous of which is an optional par-3 19th hole. Instead of playing the 194-yard, par-3 third hole, golfers can tackle the 199-yard 3-B which plays to a green on an island just offshore. The green itself is shaped like a whale's tail. (Whales are frequently spotted in the area.)
The course was developed to be environmentally friendly; a computerized system monitors ground moisture and only irrigates the greens and fairways when it's needed. Organic fertilizers are used instead of chemicals and only biodegradable insecticides are used on greens bordering the ocean.
