Just north of Springfield, Ledges Municipal Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course that opened for play August 2001. Designed by architect Howard Maurer, Ledges is a mix of tree-lined parkland and open links-type holes. The rolling fairways all dogleg either right or left, and there are no straight shots, placing accuracy and club selection at a premium. The greens are small, well undulated, and quick. Water comes into play on at least every hole in the form of one lake and wetlands that meander throughout the course. Ledges is a par 72 course and plays to 6,500-yards from the tips. Twilight, junior, and senior discounts are available. For additional information call (413) 532-2307.
