Shawnee's legendary 27-hole golf course is nestled between the grand Appalachian Mountains and soothing Delaware River, where 24 of its 27 holes are located on a private island. Its classic design features challenging layouts that test even the most skilled pros, and represent A.W. Tillinghast's first ever design. Shawnee is fantastic at maintaining the balance between making each hole distinct while preserving a steady rhythm of play. Each course is represented by tree-lined fairways and a traditional layout featuring undulating greens. Shawnee's signature hole is Blue #7, a 177-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over the Delaware River from the island to the mainland green. Shawnee's course underwent a $2.5 million overhaul in 1997 and was the site of the 1967 NCAA and 1938 PGA Championships. One of only two Tillinghast designed courses open to the public, Shawnee also offers guests country club memberships. 2007 Marked Shawnee's renaissance in which the resort present! ted new amenities including the River Room and Bistro restaurants, Spa Shawnee and Salon, and the Legacy Collection - a group of luxury accommodations (TLCshawnee.com).
