This course's back nine was built in 1937, and its front nine was built in 1985. The back nine features mature oak trees forming thick tree-lined fairways. The greens are very small and undulating. This course has a lot of character. Even though the front nine has more sand bunkers and narrower fairways, it is a little bit easier. The greens are almost twice the size of the greens on the back nine. Water hazards (ponds and a creek) come into play on eight holes. About half the greens and tee boxes are elevated. The signature hole is #9, a 330-yard, par 4, because it requires a tee shot up a dogleg right fairway.
