In the heart of northwest Las Vegas, lies one of the city's finest golfing venues, Painted Desert Golf Club. It was the first desert style golf course to open in Las Vegas and took its first tee time in 1987. This par 72 layout measures 6781 yards and was designed by Jay Morrish. Morrish has crafted some of the southwest's most talked about desert courses, of which Painted Desert was the first. Painted Desert has been host to The Nevada Open and several amateur events. Today, it is consistently rated as one of the best maintained public courses in Nevada. PGA Tour player Robert Gamez holds the course record of 62 Painted Desert Golf Club is set within a natural desert habitat and features numerous mounds, challenging greens and some of the most picturesque scenery in the area. Painted Desert Golf Club is a jewel in the desert, a true oasis, and a must play.
