Resort, 18 holes, $245.00 - $245.00

Kiawah Island is consistently ranked as one of the top courses in the U.S. and the World by Golf Magazine's panel of experts.

This resort, a regular presence on GOLF Magazine's list of Gold and Silver medal resorts, features five outstanding 18-hole courses.

The Ocean Course played host to the 1991 Ryder Cup and is scheduled to host the 2012 PGA Championship.

The difficulty on this course is due to the near constant wind and numerous dunes, marshes, and sand bunkers spread throughout its design. Water hazards come into play at least 16 times. The greens vary in size. This is a very scenic course with a view of the ocean on every hole.

Undoubtedly one of Pete Dye's most superb designs, The Ocean Course received worldwide attention as the host of the dramatic 1991 Ryder Cup matches, dubbed "the War at the Shore."

At 7,356 yards, The Ocean Course offers spectacular views along two and one half miles of Atlantic Ocean. With 10 holes directly on the Atlantic and the other eight winding through the surrounding marshes and dunes, The Ocean Course offers a natural links-style environment reminiscent of the great courses of Scotland. In 2002 and 2003, Pete Dye made architectural changes to seven holes on the Ocean Course and resurfaced all the greens with Paspalum.

Many of the tee boxes were also enlarged and new tee boxes added on four holes. In addition, much of the bunkering throughout the course was modified. The most significant architectural change, however, took place on No. 18 where Dye moved the entire green complex toward the ocean.
