Angel Park Golf Club
Las Vegas, Nev.
6,772 yards, par 71
Green fees: $75-$109
888-446-5358, angelpark.com

SERVICE
All the usual bells and whistles, from the guy who grabs your bag to the dude who cleans your clubs, to the spacious driving range (as long as you don't mind warming up on a mat). Everyone is pleasantly attentive without being overbearing.

PACE OF PLAY
It's a breeze in the morning, when most Vegas golfers are sleeping off their losses. But come afternoon, plan on a five-hour round. The marshals do their best, but proximity to the Strip makes this a popular pit stop for tourists.

QUALITY
The Arnold Palmer-designed layout is unremarkable — most of the holes fade from memory by the next tee. But the red-rock views are great, the fairways are forgiving, and the location — just 15 minutes from the Strip — is hard to beat.

VALUE
Anywhere else you'd laugh at this price for a course of this quality, but by Vegas standards $100 for a middling track qualifies as reasonable. That said, if you really want a steal, Angel Park offers a better option: a 12-hole par-3 course for $25.

VERDICT
Golf snobs will find plenty to sniff at, from the spotty conditions to the dull design. But this is Vegas, and Angel Park is perfectly fine for its target market: laid-back golfing locals and bachelor-party attendees just looking for a laugh.
