Ageless Julius Boros was nearing 50, but he managed to hold off Arnold Palmer by a shot (in Arnie's closest run at the major he never won) on a track punctuated by copses of pecans and oaks that cross Salado Creek nine times. A 1998 renovation by Bob Cupp put the teeth back into this one.
