Sean Foley may have parted way with Tiger Woods this past year, but the swing guru has been keeping plenty busy.
Foley still counts PGA Tour stars Justin Rose and Hunter Mahan among his students, and he’ll soon be adding to his stable through a blowout golf and fitness program in New York.
As New Year’s resolutions go, they don’t get much more high-end than the "Golf & Body Experience," a year-long instruction and fitness regimen now in the offing from Golf & Body NYC, a private club in midtown Manhattan.
Priced at $42,000 for non-club members (and $25,000 for club members) the program brings together a trio of experts for a holistic approach to game improvement that balances gym time with swing instruction and assorted custom perks.
In addition to one-on-one work with Foley, participants will undergo a head-to-toe assessment from Ben Shear, a biomechanics specialist whose clients include top pros like Luke Donald and Webb Simpson, and a golf analytics and ball-flight session with GOLF Magazine Top 100 Teacher James Leitz.
Both Shear and Leitz will develop personalized programs for each participant that can be worked on throughout the year at Golf & Body’s midtown facility. Each participant will also receive a set of irons and three wedges from custom club-fitter True Spec.
But the boldest headline draw behind the Golf and Body Experience is Foley, the instructor best known for having worked with Woods in a four-year partnership that ended amicably this past summer. As part of the program, Foley will provide each participant with four personalized swing analysis videos along with an instruction plan to carry out throughout the year.
Come spring, after a pre-season of swing and fitness training, each participant will meet with Foley for a two-hour range session, followed by a private on-course lesson devoted to swing mechanics, scoring, course management and more. At the year’s end, participants get another on-course one-on-one with Foley, who’ll assess each golfer’s progress and devise a long-term battle plan.
