Rory McIlroy Jokes He Knows How to Stop Adam Scott

Arnold Palmer Invitational: Can Rory McIlroy Win His First Event of 2016?
The GOLF LIVE team assesses Rory McIlroy's early-season struggles and what that means for him going into the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill this week.

Adam Scott returns to the PGA Tour and the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week as the hottest golfer around, but Rory McIlroy might know how to stop him.

Scott has won his last two tournaments and tied for second the week before those victories. Those who worried about how Scott would react to the anchored-putting ban have been set straight by the Aussie.

Scott’s playing so well since the anchor ban, McIlroy suggested there's only one way to stop him — go back to anchoring.

“I think we should bring the anchored putting back,” McIlroy joked this week at Bay Hill. “I was all for getting rid of it. Now I’m all for keeping it.”

Scott started his first round at Bay Hill at 8:11 a.m. EST. McIlroy tees off at 1:08 p.m.
