Rory McIlroy Gives Old Nike Driver to Facebook Commenter

Rory McIlroy Is Having an Interesting Week
It's been quite a week for Rory McIlroy, from giving away clubs to coming down with a case of food poisoning to an up-and-down performance at the WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai.

Ask and you shall receive.

On Tuesday, Rory McIlroy apparently gave his Nike driver to a fan who simply asked for it via Facebook.

Reddit first posted a screenshot of Rory responding to Barry Edwards, who commented on one of McIlroy’s recent posts.

“P.s – I still need a new Driver. Any chance of one of your old NIKE ones fella," Edwards wrote.

McIlroy, as you can see from the photo below, responded by saying, “Sure. I’ll send you a Nike covert driver. Served me well! Message me your address and my team will ship it to you.”

The conversation continued after that, mainly because Barry didn’t think he was serious. Yes, Barry, he was. Enjoy!
