Who would have guessed so much would go wrong when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell stepped out to play golf?

On Tuesday afternoon, the NFL's official Twitter account was hacked and sent out a series of tweets, one of which announced the death of Goodell.

The tweet was quickly deleted, along with two others. Brian McCarthy, who works in public relations for the NFL, announced that the account was hacked and assured the world that Goodell was "alive and well."

The commissioner, who is also an Augusta National member, poked fun at the prank later in the day. He tweeted a picture of himself with the caption: "Man, you leave the office for 1 day of golf w/ @JimKelly1212 & your own network kills you off. #harsh."
