There’s now a golf alternative to Jerry Seinfeld’s hit web talk series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Say hello to Celebrities in Golf Carts!
The show is hosted by sports broadcaster Mark Willard and follows Willard as he plays nine holes with his guest and humorously discusses career, family, and golf. One of the first episodes features comedian Rob Riggle, the former SNL cast member known for his roles in The Hangover, Step Brothers, and 21 Jump Street, among others. Riggle talks about his interest in improving his golf game, even joking that he would like to be a PGA golfer someday, sarcastically adding it to his list of careers after Marine Corps officer and actor. “That’s probably not gonna happen, I’ll be honest,” he says, laughing over beers at the club house with Willard.
The two also talk about the ups and downs of trying to teach their young sons how to golf and the complications of getting old on the golf course. The episode ends with Willard losing a bet to Riggle, who breaks out his Marine officer persona to get Willard to complete his owed 50 push-ups.
Other episodes include conversations with Kunal Nayyar of Big Bang Theory television fame, Brian Baumgartner, who played Kevin on The Office, and Nomar Garciaparra, former MLB player.
