Parsons Xtreme Golf (PXG) has a striking new Xtreme Dark all-black finish for its 0311 and 0311T irons and wedges. The durable carbon coating, which is referred to as DLC ("Diamond-like Carbon"), preserves the club's sleek look round after round.

"PXG was on a mission to introduce a black iron finish that would not fade over time and would resist showing sign of wear and tear," said PXG chief product officer Brad Schweigert. "We discovered that DLC coating not only produces an extraordinary look without influencing club performance relative to how the ball reacts, but also significantly extends the reasonable lifetime for the black finish."

While PXG is the first manufacturer to bring the DLC coating technology to golf clubs, the finish is already proving to be useful in industries ranging from automotive to medical, down to high-end timepieces (the Space Black Apple watch uses the coating).

Limited quantities of the PXG 0311 and 0311T irons and wedges in the Xtreme Dark finish are available for $400 per club.
