Cleveland Classic Collection HB 1 Putter
Category: Blade Putters
Price: $90
WE TESTED: 35" shaft length
KEY TECHNOLOGIES: Heel-toe weighting aids performance on off-center hits. A deep milling pattern promotes a softer feel than its predecessor.
PROS
DISTANCE CONTROL: Like most good, basic designs it produces solid distance on center hits; testers have little trouble getting it right on lag putts; mis-hits don't kill you, especially from shorter range.
FEEL: Nicely balanced and steady throughout the stroke; crisp and lively feel on center hits; soft grip is a bonus.
LOOK: Basic style that testers can relate to -- it's reminiscent of an older Cameron or Ping; sets up square with a simple alignment aid.
CONS
Mis-hits feel a bit dead to some testers; not a lot of pizazz in the looks department; the soft Winn grip doesn't agree with everyone.
BOTTOM LINE: A traditional design that gives predictable performance with a pleasing feel.
