Odyssey Golf has introduced 3 new models in the Metal-X family, the #1 Wide ($299), #2 ($299), and 2-Ball ($349). Previously the Metal-X line has been used to win 6 events on the PGA Tour, including two wins each by Chris Kirk and Patrick Reed, and has also won on the Japanese Tour, LPGA Tour and European Tour.
All three of the new models are designed with Odyssey’s Metal-X milled roll technology, which features oval depressions in the face that increase friction at impact for a more consistent roll of the golf ball. Each model also features an adjustable weight and crossbar in the back of the clubhead to stiffen the face for an improved sound and feel.
According to Austie Rollinson, Odyssey Principal Designer, the three new models came about because Tour players requested them.
“In my job and for my team, we gather feedback all over the world from our Tour Reps, our Tour Staff and the best players in the world. This allows us to incorporate all of that feedback to recognize and fine tune new designs that they want to play, and that’s exactly what we’ve done here.”
Adjustable weights kits come in 10g, 15g, 20g in the #2 and #1 wide models, while the 2-Ball weights come in 1g, 10g, and 20g.
