COBRA KING F6 FAIRWAY WOOD

CATEGORY: Game Improvement Fairway Woods
PRICE: $240
WE TESTED: 3-4 (adjusts 13° to 16°) with Matrix Red Tie 65Q4 graphite shaft
KEY TECHNOLOGIES: Position the heavier 20-gram weight forward for a lower, penetrating flight or back for a higher flight.

PROS

PLAYABILITY: The adjustable hosel allows players to dial-in launch to fit whatever their swings or situation demands; more freedom to program shot shape than most others in its class; sweeps balls off the fairway with ease.
ACCURACY/FORGIVENESS: Deadly on center shots, while slight mis-hits don't stray far from their intended line; middle-of- the-pack forgiveness, although some guys never seem to miss it.
DISTANCE: Medium flight with good carry and roll—longer than many guys' current sticks on misses; several testers say that lofting up maximizes distance.
FEEL: One of the best for sound and feel; firm impact, like hitting a fastball out of the park; stands up to hard swings, giving players confidence to rip it; harsher on misses.
LOOK: The testers' favorite, and it's not even close; classic pear shape that's not too large to look clumsy or too small to be intimidating; high-tech sole design wins plenty of fans.

CONS

Takes some tinkering to find the right loft combo and weight placement; some guys need more forgiveness; doesn't blast through the rough quite as well as others.

BOTTOM LINE: One of the top-rated models for its look, rich feel and versatility. The King's world-class adjustability opens this one up to a wide range of players.
