Vokey TVD wedges ($160 plus personalization packages), meaning "Tour Van Design," are the result of Bob Vokey's direct work with Tour players and their specialized needs. The new TVD-M and TVD-K wedges reflect the most popular grinds among PGA Tour players. Both are offered in two finishes (chrome and black ion) and are fully customizable for length, lie, loft, weight porting, toe engraving, personal stamping, grips, shafts, and ferrules.
All Vokey wedges are built with deeper, Spin Milled TX3 grooves that create higher spin rates and more accuracy around the greens than past Vokey models. TX3 grooves are 7% larger than past Vokey grooves and promote greater control and accuracy. TVD wedges are available in 54 to 60-degree models.
“The K grind has been a huge hit for us,” Vokey said. “It’s only been on Tour for a couple of years but we already have 30 guys using it. I think the secret is the cambered sole. It is wide and forgiving, but the camber keeps the club moving through the turf. So it’s playable in a variety of conditions.”All TVD wedges can be customized with a four different styles of stamping -- straight, freestyle, snow, and snow dot options -- in up to eight letters and numbers and a dozen paint fill colors.
“There isn’t a wedge I make on Tour that doesn’t have some type of personalized stamping,” said Vokey Tour Rep Aaron Dill, who works on the Titleist Tour Van. “Jason Dufner, for example, likes me to stamp ‘DUF’ on all his wedges. Zach Johnson has the names of children. Kevin Na has ‘NA’ in snow stamping all over the wedge. It’s totally personal.”Vokey TVD wedges are available May 7th through WedgeWorks on Vokey.com.
