A storied name in the world of golf gear has returned with a new big stick with some impressive technology. PowerBilt's Air Force One DFX driver ($299.99) features a deep face (DFX stands for "Deep Face Extreme) that is designed to hold the ball a bit longer at impact for lower spin and longer distance. The performance of the clubface is further enhanced by PowerBilt's "Nitrogen Charged," technology, which uses nitrogen in the clubhead to reinforce the clubface without adding additional weight.
"We reduced the nitrogen pressure to 80 pounds, for better impact feel," says Ross Kvinge, President of PowerBilt. "This new amount of nitrogen generates a tremendous trampoline effect for increased ball speed. In fact, now the trampoline effect is up to the USGA maximum limit. Shot dispersion is also the tightest ever in our drivers. And by adding 6 grams low and forward in the clubhead, we moved the CG lower and more forward than in any other Air Force One driver. We did this to appease our clubfitters who requested a better smash factor. I can confidently say that this is the most solid driver we have ever produced."Other features include a forged titanium body and titanium cup face, and aerodynamic clubhead shaping for faster swingspeeds. The Air Force One DFX is available in regular and Tour Series models in 8.5-, 9.5, 10.5, and 12-degree lofts. For more info visit www.powerbilt.com.
