Tiger has a new club in his bag at the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge this week.
Woods noted on his official website that he will be testing a prototype Nike Covert driver which appears to be the company's new VRS Covert Tour 2.0 driver -- the same club Rory McIlroy and Charl Schwartzel used recently to win the Australian Open and South African Open, respectively. Woods used the driver at Wednesday's pro am at Sherwood Country Club.
From Woods' official site:
Woods will use a new Nike Covert prototype driver this week, and has switched to a 103-gram Diamana Blue Board shaft, the same one he uses with his 3- and 5-wood. He previously used a lighter 73-gram shaft in his driver and now has a better feel of the club at impact.
"I feel very comfortable," Woods said.
Woods, who has been known to stick with the same clubs for a long time, switched to the Nike Covert 3-wood and 5-wood this summer.
