AUGUSTA, Ga.— Before he left his
studio in San Marcos, Calif., Scotty Cameron packed a few special putters for the pros to try out this week in Augusta. Cameron's new putter for Titleist, the Studio Select Kombi, has been available to the game's best players for
several months, and the models arriving in local
pro shops feature a polished aluminum finish. The Kombis Cameron packed for the Masters, however, have a black pearl finish, which should help reduce glare
in the address position. The putter itself is identical to the original
Kombi, a mallet designed to help players improve alignment without
sacrificing feel. This putter pictured here was being taken to Pat Perez on Monday afternoon after being fitted with 15-gram screws under the heel and toe and a 20-gram screw in the back of the head.
