This is an interesting course with a fair amount of skill level required to score well. Built upon a ridge line, the fairways are lined with many steep drop offs with scant few lateral reliefs and lots of OB/lost balls - so fairways are at a premium. Summer heat can make the course play hard and fast in the afternoons. Very early spring in the cold and rainy season before it's cut back to summer lengths, the course can be a real brute. Many of the greens are old school, sloping down from back to front and are medium sized. They are not particularly fast but being below the hole is always the smart play. There are very few perfectly flat lies, so as a result, every round is different, eliminating the boredom factor. One mistake in the wrong place can be very costly on this course. 5 stars on the course enjoyment/challenge level. 4 stars overall as it's not the highest level of resort level perfection on course...it's a little rough and wild in places. The facility is dated, but the food is very good.
