Poplar Forest is a good little 9 hole course located in Forest, VA next to Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest retreat home. Your round at Poplar Forest starts off with a bang on the par 4 1st to a drivable green from an elevated tee box then 2 hole later again on the par 3 3rd, which is 93 yards longs playing to a green that is guarded by a small pond. Some good holes here and a good little course to get "a quick 9" in on.
