Congressional has been ranked as one of the top courses in the U.S. by Golf Magazine's panel of experts.
This club features two 18-hole courses. Both courses feature tree-lined fairways that afford generous landing areas. The terrain is rolling, and water hazards come into play on Nos. 6, 10, 11 and 18.
The Blue Course has hosted the U.S. Open three times -- 1964 (Ken Venturi), 1997 (Ernie Els) and 2011. It has been redesigned several times over years, most recently by Rees Jones in preperation for the 2011 Open. The course has recently hosted Tiger Woods's AT&T National on the PGA Tour.
The back nine on the Gold Course was designed by George and Tom Fazio in 1977. The entire Gold Course was redesigned in 2000 by Arthur Hills. Among his changes to the Gold Course were the reconstruction of all tees and bunkers, re-sloping and replanting of the fairways, new cart paths and an irrigation system.
It hosted Tiger Woods' AT&T National event in 2009.
