Despite not having a single track of its own, Perth Amboy, N.J. (perhaps best known as Bon Jovi's early stomping grounds) is an easy drive from a quarter of the best golf courses in the country, making it the unofficial golf capital of the United States. Exactly 25 of our Top 100 Golf Courses in the U.S. are found less than 150 miles from Perth Amboy -- creating a hub of great American golf. Informed of his city's newest honor, Mayor Joseph Vas said, "It doesn't surprise me. Perth Amboy has always been at the epicenter of what is richest in New Jersey -- right in between New York and Philadelphia, and now right next to a quarter of the best golf courses in the country." Boy, the mayor of Piscataway isn't going to like that!
