TOKYO (AP) Japanese golfer Ryo Ishikawa has received a special invitation to play in the PGA Championship.
"I received the news today, I'm very happy," the 17-year-old Ishikawa said Tuesday. "My impression is that it's an extremely tough layout and I will aim as high as I can."
Ishikawa, a two-time winner on the Japanese tour, missed the cut in his Masters debut in April, for which he also received a special invitation.
This year's PGA championship will be held Aug. 13-16 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn.
