FAR HILLS, N.J. (AP) — Laura Davies has accepted a special exemption to the U.S. Women's Open, the major she won in 1987 for her first LPGA Tour victory.

It will be her 24th consecutive appearance in the U.S. Women's Open, which will be played July 9-12 at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.

``The U.S. Women's Open is one of the highlights of the year for me, so to be given an exemption in this year's championship means a lot to me,'' Davies said.
