CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand (AP) — American Diana D'Alessio shot a 4-under 68 on Friday to take a one-stroke lead over Australia's Sarah Kemp in the Ladies European Tour's season-opening New Zealand Women's Open.

D'Alessio had a 9-under 135 total on the Pegasus Golf Club course.

Kemp shot a 67. South Africa's Ashleigh Simon (70) and Norway's Marianne Skarpnord (73) were three strokes back at 6 under.

Canada's Lorie Kane was fifth at 5 under after a 66 - the round of the day.
