Since Michael Jordan and Larry Bird played Horse for McDonald's, the most popular formula for athletes in commercials is to put two of them together in competition. In their new Nike commercial, Rory McIlroy and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney add a twist: combining their two sports so that McIlroy plays the course with a club and golf ball and Rooney uses his foot and Nike's new soccer ball.

McIlroy is a well-known Man U supporter (he got a pep talk from Sir Alex Ferguson after his 2011 Master collapse) and he shows off his own soccer skills in this behind-the-scene video, which is a lot more fun than the final product.
